My breeding program is based on line breeding with frequent outbreeding. I believe it is important to breed quality, healthy, and vigorous mentally as well as physically sound dogs. All my dogs are allergy free; and their eyes, hearts, patellas, hips, and elbows are certified by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. I also want my puppy buyers to do certain health tests on their puppies at appropriate ages, so that I know what I’m producing. I am convinced that good disposition and health are every bit as important as good conformation, so I pay a lot of attention to these characteristics when planning each litter. I only breed litters every one to three years, and these are raised in the house with attention to a firm foundation for becoming good companion animals. I’m as choosy about my new owners as they are about me, because I want every placement to be perfect for both the puppy and its new family.
While I breed only for show quality, I recognize that many of my puppies will be placed in homes that are primarily interested in a pet Bichon. I encourage those people to attend training classes and to be involved in Obedience, Rally or Agility.
